About Michelle- I am a Chicago native, fashion enthusiast and mother of two daughters. I love clothes, accessories, makeup and all things fabulous. Nothing terribly trendy, but creative accessories, especially jewelry and headbands, are never too much to incorporate into my “classic” style. I have been called “preppy” but don’t find that offensive. I am, to a point, but I have a bit of an edge. Albeit, a small bit! I believe that there is no shame in looking good. In fact, there’s shame in looking bad! You are treated differently, simply better, when you look your best. As cliché as it sounds the adage, “don’t judge a book by its cover,” is all too often the reality – So, take pride in your appearance, take care of yourself, and wear what you love and it’ll love you back. Oh yea, I love shoes. No, really, more than your average shoe-loving woman. I also like to lament things I find not so fabulous in fashion; I have trouble keeping my opinions to myself. I should probably work on that, but I suspect people like this about me (right, darling?). Well, at least I like this about me. In addition to keeping up on all-things-fabulous, I love to write, shop, travel and read. At any given moment, I have a stack of assorted magazines on my night stand, in addition to the occasional novel. I speak Spanish and enjoy Spanish and Latin American food, literature, film, music, art, etc. I studied comparative politics in graduate school and have a BA in political science. I guess I am what you’d call “well-rounded.” Traveling is also nice, but difficult with two little ones. We do what we can. My favorite color is blue, I am a Scorpio, I love cheese, dark chocolate and red wine, naps, facials, cute animals (just not living in my home), shoes (mentioned this before), my family, friends, Gossip Girl, Mexican beaches, Spongebob Squarepants, fall and peonies. Dislikes: whiners, flats, fake nails, too-long hair, too-tight pants, too much makeup, complacency, pretense and lots of other things but I don’t want to bore you.
